Retta
Forest Therapy Walk Guide
Retta has been a Head Start, Kindergarten and Nature Preschool teacher and began working in the Children's Garden at the Morton Arboretum in 2008 as an Early Childhood Program assistant and Instructor.
Currently, Retta works as an Education Guide working with school groups from preschool through high school. In 2017, Retta achieved certification from the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy Guides and now conducts Nature and Forest Therapy walks onsite and elsewhere. Retta has been guiding walks for children and people of all ages and stages of life. She continues to be amazed at the connection to nature that is often experienced on a gentle walk.
Retta has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree from Dominican University. When not at the Morton Arboretum, Retta is gardening, visiting gardens, taking a lovely nature walk with her husband and planning visits with family and friends.
